The games were played and the house was bounced. Everyone had a great time at our carnival on the patio of Benedum! It was a great way to relax during the stressful time of finals season.
6 of our brave members ventured to the national engineering student council conference and learned a lot of great things to help our own council!
Everyone needs a little love, and ESC put on the greatest romantic comedy since Love Actually. Audience members were able to bid on a date from a lovely pool of contestants, and all of the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society! Hosted by critically-acclaimed (by various Swanson students) comic Phil Forrence, this night held our heart cockles in a warm embrace.
Engineering Student Council's guest speaker for this year is David Epstein, an investigative reporter and Award Winning Author of The Sports Gene. He is also one of the people involved in exposing Alex Rodriguez in his use of PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) in the early 2000s. Free admission to all students on Wednesday, September 20th, at 7 PM on the WPU Assembly Room! Bring your friends!
ESC's annual Academic Year Kickoff was an amazing success! Pizza, T-Shirts, and 28 engineering organizations came to the Benedum Patio to kickoff the year for our new freshmen and transfer students!
Our annual Benedum Carnival was held the Friday before finals week and was another great success. We had carnival games, Therapets, free food, a bouncy house, and Rita's Italian ice -- the perfect recipe for de-stressing before finals!
Officers and some of our General Body Members attended the National Association of Engineering Student Councils National Conference held at the University of Purdue, attended by over 70 schools from around the country. Our organization was named Most Outstanding Large Council!
Hosted by Phil Forrence, 24 lovely contestants from across all engineering disciplines managed to raise a total of $2400 towards American Cancer Society at the 2017 Date Auction!
Leaders from various organizations at the Swanson School of Engineering came together to discuss and further develop their leadership skills!
Stressed about finals? Our 2016 Unwind Your Mind event was a great way to help students de-stress before their exams. Yoga, massages, pizza, movies, and more!
